Maintenance Technician – 2nd Shift Pay: $23.00 – $35.00 per hour, depending on experience Job Type: Full-time Shift: 2nd Shift Location: Muskegon, MI We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to support production equipment, facility maintenance, and overall plant reliability in a manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electrical systems to help minimize downtime and keep equipment running safely and efficiently. This is a strong opportunity for a hands-on maintenance professional with manufacturing experience, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work on CNC machinery, machine tools, material handling systems, pumps, gearboxes, drive mechanisms, and related production equipment. Responsibilities Perform preventive maintenance on machine tools and production equipment to improve reliability and reduce downtime Troubleshoot, repair, and overhaul mechanical and hydraulic systems, including pumps, gearboxes, ball screws, slide assemblies, and drive mechanisms Diagnose and repair basic low-voltage electrical and control circuits when needed Disassemble and assemble electrical wiring, conduit, motors, controls, and related components on de-energized equipment Support installation and setup of new equipment Complete fabrication projects from drawings using tool room equipment such as engine lathes, milling machines, drill presses, and welding equipment Use precision measuring equipment including micrometers, calipers, and dial indicators Perform general facility maintenance as needed Operate a forklift when required Use a CMMS system to document work orders and preventive maintenance activity Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment Identify and report unsafe conditions or equipment concerns Participate in continuous improvement and lean manufacturing activities Perform other related maintenance duties as assigned Qualifications Minimum of 3 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment High school diploma or GED required CNC machine repair experience is highly preferred Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to work with hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment Working knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, plumbing, electrical systems, and general construction/facility maintenance Ability to read, write, and follow detailed written instructions Ability to read drawings and complete basic fabrication work Experience using a CMMS system is preferred Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. and stand, sit, bend, and move throughout the plant as needed Must be able to work safely and wear required PPE, including steel-toed or composite-toed shoes and ANSI-approved safety glasses Benefits Competitive hourly pay based on experience Paid vacation and paid holidays Medical and dental insurance options 401(k) retirement plan with company contribution Growth and training opportunities Life insurance, employee assistance programs, voluntary benefit options, discount programs, and additional employee benefits Additional Information This position is part of a union manufacturing environment.
