Machining / Grinding Specialist Pay: $24–$30 per hour, depending on experience Job Type: Full-time We are seeking a Machining / Grinding Specialist to join a precision manufacturing team. This position is responsible for setting up, operating, and troubleshooting CNC machining and/or grinding equipment while ensuring parts meet quality, safety, and production standards. This is a great opportunity for someone who is mechanically inclined, enjoys hands-on work, and has interest or experience in machining, grinding, or precision manufacturing. Responsibilities Set up and operate CNC machining and/or grinding equipment according to established procedures and safety guidelines Perform machining and grinding operations on a variety of precision parts Monitor machine performance and make offset adjustments as needed to maintain quality standards Inspect parts using precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, gauges, and related equipment Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, symbols, and work instructions Work to minimize scrap and rework while maintaining acceptable production output Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area Identify and report unsafe conditions or equipment concerns Participate in continuous improvement and lean manufacturing activities Perform other related duties as assigned Qualifications High school diploma or GED required Previous metal removal, machining, or grinding experience in a precision manufacturing environment is preferred, but not required Basic math skills and mechanical aptitude Ability to learn and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work instructions Experience using precision measuring equipment is preferred Basic computer skills and ability to learn new systems and processes Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality Dependable attendance and ability to work independently Ability to stand, bend, lift, push, pull, and lift up to 40 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodation Benefits Competitive hourly pay based on experience Paid vacation and paid holidays Medical and dental insurance options 401(k) retirement plan with company contribution Growth and training opportunities Additional benefits may include life insurance, employee assistance programs, voluntary insurance options, discount programs, and more This position is a strong fit for candidates with experience as a CNC Operator, Grinder, Machinist, Machine Operator, Production Technician, or mechanically inclined individuals looking to grow in precision manufacturing.
