Field Service Technician - Grand Rapids, MI A growing manufacturer of custom process equipment is seeking a Field Service Technician to support the installation, testing, troubleshooting, and repair of automated machinery used in industrial manufacturing environments. This is a customer-facing role that requires strong mechanical aptitude, professional communication skills, and the ability to travel to customer sites approximately 50% of the year. This position is ideal for someone with hands-on experience working with mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and automated process equipment. Responsibilities: Travel to customer sites to install, commission, repair, and troubleshoot dispense systems and related process equipment Inspect, test, and perform equipment run-off prior to shipment Support factory acceptance testing, application lab trials, and customer demonstrations Assist with setup, testing, and final validation of completed equipment projects Provide technical support to customers by phone, email, and web-based communication Read and troubleshoot hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and electrical systems Assist with equipment manuals, technical documentation, and service-related records Work closely with engineering, service, production, and support teams to resolve equipment issues Maintain a strong commitment to safety and follow all safe work practices Travel primarily throughout the United States and Canada, with occasional international travel Qualifications: 5+ years of related experience in equipment maintenance, service, repair, or industrial troubleshooting Strong working knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems Experience with pumps, valves, flow controls, piping, fittings, seals, cylinders, bearings, gearboxes, and motors Ability to troubleshoot temperature control systems, vacuum systems, hydraulic systems, and industrial electronics PLC and HMI troubleshooting experience preferred; basic programming experience is a plus Experience in one or more of the following environments: Food or beverage manufacturing, Chemical processing, Plastics manufacturing, Injection molding, Hydraulic systems, Automated liquid material processing, Industrial process equipment Valid driver’s license required
