About This Role
We are seeking a highly skilled CNC Mill Machinist to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will operate and program CNC milling machines to produce precision metal and plastic components according to detailed specifications. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, proficiency in CNC programming, and experience with various measurement and inspection tools. Duties Set up, operate, and monitor CNC milling machines, primarily Fanuc-controlled systems, ensuring optimal performance and safety standards. Develop and modify CNC programs using G-code, M-code, and CAM programming software to produce complex parts accurately. Interpret mechanical blueprints and technical drawings to determine machining requirements, tolerances, and tooling specifications. Conduct precision measurements using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines to verify part dimensions. Perform quality inspections throughout the machining process, ensuring adherence to GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) standards. Maintain proper tooling setup, changeover procedures, and machine calibration for consistent output. Utilize hand tools, grinders, and power tools for finishing operations or minor adjustments as needed. Support lean manufacturing initiatives by identifying process improvements and reducing waste. Assist with maintenance of CNC equipment including basic troubleshooting of Fanuc controls and electrical discharge machining (EDM) setups when required. Collaborate with engineering teams on prototype development, tooling design, and process optimization. Ensure compliance with safety protocols related to metal machining, plastics injection molding, welding, and other manufacturing activities. Experience Proven experience operating CNC milling machines with a strong understanding of CNC G-code programming and CAM software. Familiarity with electrical discharge machining (EDM) processes is a plus. Knowledge of SolidWorks or CAD software for interpreting design files. Mechanical blueprint reading skills combined with the ability to interpret mechanical blueprints accurately. Experience working with precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines. Basic math skills for calculating dimensions, feeds, speeds, and tolerances in manufacturing settings. Hands-on experience with tooling setup, grinding operations, welding techniques, and assembly processes. Understanding of lean manufacturing principles aimed at improving efficiency and reducing waste. Ability to operate forklifts or power tools safely as required for material handling or machine setup.
