Senior Fleet Mechanic
Location: Rockford, MI
Pay Range: $35-$42/hour (Up to $105,000/year based on a 45-hour work week)


Position Overview:

Our client in the Rockford, MI area is actively seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Fleet Mechanic to oversee the maintenance and repair of their diesel vehicle fleet. The ideal candidate should possess a depth of knowledge in diesel mechanics and a minimum of 5 years’ experience in the field, with expertise in handling turbos, air lines, air suspension, steering components, and air brake systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular maintenance and diagnostic tests on a fleet of diesel vehicles.
  • Efficiently troubleshoot and repair turbos, air lines, air suspension, steering components, and air brake systems.
  • Ensure all fleet vehicles are in compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Maintain detailed records of service schedules, repairs, and maintenance performed.
  • Lead and mentor junior mechanics, providing guidance and technical expertise.
  • Collaborate with the management team to implement best practices for fleet maintenance.


Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of experience as a Fleet Mechanic.
  • In-depth knowledge of diesel engines and fleet maintenance protocols.
  • Proficiency with diagnostic tools and equipment related to turbos, air lines, air suspension, steering, and air brake systems.
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities and a commitment to quality.
  • A valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) is preferred.
  • Relevant certifications from ASE or similar bodies are a plus.
