Applications Engineer/Project Engineer Summary:

Midwest Recruiters is seeking an experienced engineer with a background leading larger projects. As an Applications/Project Engineer, you will be responsible for developing products, leading product launch teams, and providing technical support for existing products. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in 3D Modelling (Solidworks, Pro/E, Inventor, etc.), APQP, DFMEA, PFMEA, and will work well in a collaborative environment. Position is located in Hastings, MI.

Applications Engineer/Project Engineer Responsibilities:

• Plan, organize, and lead large engineering projects through product development processes.
• Prepare and adhere to project schedule and raise issues to meet project deadlines and takes necessary steps to resolve.
• Analyzes research data, proposed product specifications and/or customer drawings to determine feasibility of manufacturability.
• Use computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering and design tasks.
• Prepares or coordinates preparations of product or system layout, detailed drawings and schematics and all engineering documentation.
• Works with cross-functional teams to develop designs and resolve design issues.
• Prepare cost quotations on new products, including material and purchased components, packaging, and testing.

Applications/Project Engineer Requirements:

• BS in Engineering or related technical degree.
• 5+ years of product/process development experience.
• Proven history of successfully leading projects from concept to successful launch/implementation.
• Understanding of APQP, DFMEA, PFMEA, etc.
• Experience with Solidworks or Catia is a plus.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are needed as this position interfaces with internal/external customers, and cross-functional teams within the organization
